For we have this hope that there's an anchor for our soul that the Lord is with us and He never lets us go. Alice E. Pursel, 74, went to Heaven on March 31st, 2018. Alice was predeceased by her son Todd. She is survived by her high school sweetheart and loving husband of 54 years, Ira Cull; three children, Dawn, Wendy, Scot and grandson, Isaiah; three sisters, Bernadette Bowie, Georgette (Drake) Lamen and Kathleen Plunkett as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins. Alice was an LPN for many decades. She worked at BGH and at the end of her career Vestal Nursing Center. Alice taught Sunday School to the 2 and 3 year olds. She taught self defense at FMK Karate and was a 3rd degree Black Belt. Funeral services will be held at the J.F. Rice Funeral Home, Inc., 150 Main St., Johnson City, Thursday at 1pm with Rev. Kevin Rollo officiating. Burial will be in Floral Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 11am until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, donations in Alice’s memory can be made to a charity of your choice. The family wishes to thank the Doctors, Nurses and Support Staff at Lourdes Hospital ER for the compassionate care given to Alice and the family.
