Pauline (Maliwacki) Major

Pauline Maliwacki Major, loving wife, mother and grandmother, 94 years old went to be with the Lord December 29, 2017.  Born in Johnson City June 29, 1923 daughter of Nickolas and Josephine Maliwacki.  She married George W. Major on St. Patrick’s Day March 17, 1945.  George predeceased her on May 31, 2007.  Pauline loved music; she was a member of St. James Church and sang with her husband in the church choir for many years.  She was also a member of Sweet Adelines Chorus for several years.  She enjoyed traveling, camping and her days at Black Lake.  She was a wonderful grandmother and adored her grandchildren and great grandchildren and they adored her.  She was one of the most kind and giving person to others.  She is survived by her daughters and son-in-law, Carol Hall, Johnson City; Kathleen and Arthur Zelesnikar, Rome, NY and Kenneth Binkiewicz, Bing. Who she considered and loved like a son and his wife Anne; 8 grandchildren and spouses; 15 great grandchildren; 3 great great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.  She was predeceased by her son-in-law, Gary Hall and all six of her brothers and sisters.  The family would like to give a special thank you to the Star Unit and its staff at Hilltop Campus for their dedication and loving care they gave to Pauline.  They are truly angels walking on the earth.  Friends and family may call at the J.F. Rice Funeral Home, Inc., 150 Main St., Johnson City, Tuesday from 4PM-7PM.  A funeral mass will be offered Wednesday at 10:30AM at St. James Church 131 Main St. Johnson City with burial in Calvary Cemetery.
