Dennis E. Dewey, 73, of Binghamton, passed away January 18, 2022. He was predeceased by his parents, Gilbert and Madeline Dewey, step mother, Onalee Dewey, father and mother-in-law, Martin and Grace Amorese, uncle, John Statts and brothers-in-law, Chuck Bouter and Tom Kurth. He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Donna (or “Italian Mare” as he affectionately called her), his children, Nicole (Steve), Neil and Rachael; grandchildren, Austin, Owen and Zaria; sisters, Karen, Jeanna (Bob) and Barbara; also, several nieces, nephews and cousins. Dennis grew up on a farm in Addison, NY. He graduated from Addison Central School in 1966. He then attended Corning CC and was drafted by the US Army in 1968. He served in Vietnam where he was with the infantry and later, Recon platoon. There, he achieved the rank of Sergeant and was awarded the Bronze Star Medal. He went on to work with the Sheet Metal Union, local 112, for 38 years. In his spare time, he enjoyed riding his BMW and Ducati motorcycles all over the country, just enjoying the ride. Over the years, he looked forward to spending time at his cabin that he built in Addison, where he could be found hunting, looking for mushrooms or enjoying the quiet. The family will receive friends at St. Thomas Aquinas Church in Binghamton on Saturday, January 29, 2022 from 9am-10am with a funeral service following at 10am. Because of Dennis’ love for his dogs (Tippy, Binker, Jethro and Princess Cheeka) kindly consider, in lieu of flowers, a memorial contribution to the Broome County Humane Society
