Dorothy A. Rittenburg

Dorothy A. Rittenburg (Fendick), a lifelong resident of Binghamton, NY passed on to a better life in the early morning hours of January 23, 2021, of non-COVID related circumstances. Dorothy was 91 years old.

She was pre-deceased by her parents, John & Mary Fendick (Albrechta) as well as her siblings: Margaret, Robert, Edward, James, Leo, and her son in-law and grandson George and Michael Kermidas.

She is survived by her loving husband of 71 years, Robert, and their children: Roxanne, Gary (Judy), Leonard (Cindy), Eric (Christine), and Roberta. She was a loving grandmother to 12 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren.

Also surviving Dorothy are her remaining siblings: Frances, John, Alfred, Ted, Donna, Anita, and Richard, along with their spouses and her numerous nieces and nephews.

Dorothy took great pride in her Slovak heritage, her large family, and her Catholic faith.

She was a loving wife, mother, sister, daughter, grandmother, and friend.

Dorothy managed to keep herself busy with her numerous hobbies and activities…be it gardening, baking, sewing, golfing, bowling, cards, or casino visits, just to name a few.

She loved to surround herself with her children and their families. Bob and Dorothy never missed an event that either their own children or grandchildren participated in. You could always count on them to be there for us all!

Her goal in her later years was to live to 90 as her mother did. Well Mom, you managed just that and almost two years extra to spare!

We will miss your smile, your crazy laugh, and those beautiful blue eyes, but most of all we will miss ALL that is you!

Thank you for blessing us with your beautiful self. You will be truly missed by all the lives you touched in your amazing 91 years!
