Joan Mecca Obituary

JOHNSON CITY - Joan M. Mecca 83 of Johnson City, N.Y. passed away unexpectedly after a brief illness on May 6, 2023 surrounded by family. Joan was predeceased by her husband Peter Mecca, daughter Janine Dancho, sisters Patricia Miner, Catherine Applegate and Marie Allen. Joan is survived by brothers Fran (Kathryn) Maguire, James (Willie) Maguire sister Angela (Verne) Cooney. Joan is also survived by several nieces and nephews. Joan worked for many years as a telephone operator for New York Telephone and AT&T. Upon retirement Joan enjoyed gambling at area casinos, shopping on QVC and watching Hallmark movies. She was a long-timemember of St. James Church Johnson City, NY A memorial Mass will be offered 10:30 AM Tuesday May 16th at St James Church. Entombment will be in Calvary Cemetery. Friends may call at the Church Tuesday from 9:30 AM until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers, please make all donations to St. James Church Johnson City, N.Y.13790
