Ray Crandall Obituary

WINDSOR - July, 17, 2021 The family of the local contractor Ray Crandall is announcing that his work here is complete and his projects are accomplished. His toolbelt is wellworn and he has left it, and the beautiful houses he designed and created, forever behind. Ray is now in an infinite meeting with the Great Architect and Builder, and is in worship of the One who constructed from nothing all that is. Ray is reunited with his son James (Beth) Crandall, his parents Myrl and Christina Crandall, and siblings Nellie (Andrew) Hatch, Betty (Milton) Carpenter, Myrl (Patricia) Crandall, Harold Crandall, and George (Connie) Crandall. He awaits his wife of 70 years, Ella Robinson Crandall. Together they were one. Partners. Teammates. Lovers. Friends. In her he found his joy and theirs is the truest of romances. Their shared spirit of adventure took them to all fifty United States, most Canadian provinces, through some of Europe, and Mexico. There was no stunt too daring to avoid. No conquest too challenging to circumvent. No creature too dangerous to chase with camera. Theirs was the stuff of bucking broncos, hot air balloons, high mountains, deep oceans, parasailing, and frequently leaving town with no plans, no chosen destination, no reservations, and a well- worn atlas. Ray is temporarily apart from his beloved daughter Barbara (Gordon) Warner; Daughter-in-law Beth Crandall; sister Shirley Crandall; and brother Howard “Andy” (Marge) Crandall. He loves more than a barrel and a heap his Grands; Carrie (Wesley) Rowan, Julie (Matt) Cooper, Daniel (Cori) Warner, and Annette (Kenny) Bledsoe. And his Greats: Keegan, Elisabeth, Dasha, Madeleine, Kaelyn, Matthew, Emily, William, Leland, Elizabeth, and Xander. May the circle be unbroken. Afuneral service will be held 11 AM Wednesday July 21, 2021 at Community Bible Church. Rev. Gordon Warner, Rev. Wesley Rowan, & Rev. Norman Blowers will officiate. Burial will be in Chenango Valley Cemetery. Friends may call at the Church Wednesday from 10 Am until the time of the service. Arrangements are by the J.F. Rice Funeral Home, Inc. 150 Main Street Johnson City NY.
