Tina Farrell, 78, of Johnson City, NY, passed away peacefully on May 28, 2022
Tina Farrell was born in Nicastro, Italy (LameziaTerme) to Vincent and Angela Vesci, on September 8, 1943. She immigrated to the United States in 1958 and graduated from Binghamton North High School in 1963. She married James Stanley Farrell in 1965. For over forty years, she was a steadfast business partner with her husband at their floor covering company, Farrell Distributing Corporation. Together they forged a successful life, building ample opportunities for their five children and fourteen grandchildren, who she loved and adored immensely. She had a strong understanding of what it was to be an American and the opportunities it provided her children. She was wholeheartedly dedicated to her children and grandchildren, her Catholic faith, the church, her extended family, and friends. She had a deep sense of pride, and was fiercely adored by her husband and family. Those who knew her always acknowledged her genuineness and her kindness, and how she always treated everyone with respect and dignity. She was a woman of character, passionate about life, determined in her ways and thoughts, lively in her personality, an outstanding cook, a person true to her faith. She leaves a great legacy; faced life with toughness and tenacity, but always remained kind, caring, and empathetic.
Tina is preceded in death by her parents Vincent and Angela. Tina is survived by her husband, James Farrell: children Margaret (John) O’Keeffe, James (Josephine) Farrell, Janet (James) DiMaria, Daniel (Jennifer) Farrell, and Robert (Joan) Farrell: Brothers Louis (Helen) Vesci, Antonio (Linda) Vesci, Leo (Kathy) Vesci: Grandchildren Caitlin Farrell, Michael O’Keeffe, Patrick Farrell, Meghan Farrell, Erin Farrell, Kelly O’Keeffe, Brian Farrell, Andrew DiMaria, Kristen O’Keeffe, Daniel Farrell, Nicholas DiMaria, Peyton Farrell, John Farrell, Cameron Farrell.
Tina spent many years volunteering at Danielle’s House in Binghamton, therefore, donations will be accepted at The Danielle House, daniellehouse.org. Flowers may be sent to St. James Church, in Johnson City.
A funeral Mass will be held 10:30 AM June 2 at St James Church. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Friends may call at the church from from 9:30 until the time of the mass.
